Walt Disney World has confirmed that the iconic Yeti animatronic inside Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain at Disney's Animal Kingdom will be restored to full functionality. The announcement was made by Disney Experiences Chairman Thomas Mazloum at D23 on August 16, 2026.
This confirmation addresses a long-standing issue, as the massive Audio-Animatronic figure, often referred to as the "Disco Yeti," has been largely static for nearly two decades. The restoration aims to bring the Yeti back to its original "A-Mode" motion, resolving a widely recognized operational problem within the attraction.
Expedition Everest sends guests on a high-speed train journey through a mysterious peak, culminating in an encounter with the mythical creature. Further details regarding the timeline for the restoration have not been announced.
